The HERTEL 30010400 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and light-duty machining applications. It carries a No. 37 wire gauge designation with a decimal diameter of 0.1040 inches (2.64 mm). The bit features a 118-degree drill point angle, a fast spiral flute geometry, and a tapered web configuration. These characteristics promote efficient chip evacuation and accurate hole placement in thin, dense materials. The right-hand cutting direction and 35-degree helix angle make this bit well-suited for clean entry and exit holes in circuit board substrates and similar precision workpieces.
This drill bit is intended for use in circuit board drilling operations and light machining of cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Its compact overall length of 1-1/2 inches and 5/8-inch flute length make it appropriate for close-tolerance work in benchtop drill presses, CNC drilling machines, and high-speed spindle setups. The bright polished finish reduces friction and aids in chip flow during operation. Machinists, PCB fabricators, and precision machine shop technicians are the primary installers and operators of this tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use circuit board drill bit suitable for standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.1040-inch (2.64 mm) shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or PCB fabrication technicians familiar with high-speed drilling equipment. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are properly secured before beginning operation. Match spindle speed and feed rate to the workpiece material and bit diameter per the machine manufacturer guidelines. Inspect the bit for chips or fractures before each use, as solid carbide tooling can fail without warning if subjected to lateral load or improper feeds.
