The HERTEL 30008600 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 44, equivalent to 0.086 inches (2.18 mm) in diameter. It features a 118-degree drill point angle and a fast spiral flute design with a 35-degree helix angle, which promotes efficient chip evacuation during high-speed drilling operations. The tapered web configuration adds rigidity at the cutting tip. With a flute length of 0.625 inches (15.88 mm) and an overall length of 1.5 inches (38.10 mm), this bit is intended for precision drilling in circuit board fabrication and related light manufacturing applications. It is installed and operated by machinists, electronics technicians, and CNC operators working with tight-tolerance through-hole requirements.
This drill bit is suited for use in printed circuit board (PCB) drilling, light-duty CNC drilling machines, and manual drill press setups where small-diameter precision holes are required. The solid carbide construction and bright polished finish make it appropriate for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in addition to PCB substrates. Its right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard spindle rotation on most benchtop and floor drill presses.
Designed as a standard wire-gauge circuit board drill bit for use in CNC drilling machines, drill presses, and precision hand drilling equipment accepting a 0.086-inch (2.18 mm) shank diameter.
This bit is installed by machinists or electronics technicians operating drill presses or CNC drilling equipment. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Use appropriate spindle speeds for the material being drilled; solid carbide bits require consistent feed rates to avoid chipping. Inspect the cutting tip for wear or micro-fractures before each use, as carbide can chip if subjected to lateral loading.
