The HERTEL 30002500 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in PCB fabrication and electronics assembly applications. Built to a No. 72 wire gauge size (0.0250 decimal inch, 0.64 mm), it features a 118-degree drill point angle and a fast spiral flute geometry with a 35-degree helix angle. The tapered web configuration and bright polished finish support clean, accurate entry into tight-tolerance board materials. This bit is intended for use by electronics technicians, PCB manufacturers, and precision machining shops requiring consistent hole quality at small diameters.
The 30002500 is suited for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in addition to circuit board materials. The 0.5-inch flute length and 1.5-inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow, precision drilling operations on benchtop drill presses and CNC drilling machines used in electronics and light manufacturing environments. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. The heavy-duty grade designation reflects the solid carbide construction, which maintains rigidity and edge retention at small diameters where high-speed steel alternatives deflect under load.

Installation and use of micro drill bits at this diameter should be performed by qualified technicians familiar with CNC drilling equipment or precision drill press operation. Ensure the spindle and chuck are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to prevent runout. At sub-millimeter diameters, excessive feed pressure is the primary cause of bit breakage — follow the machine manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for solid carbide tooling. Inspect the cutting edge under magnification before use and replace the bit if chipping or edge wear is observed.
