The HERTEL 300-001509 is a solid carbide combo drill countersink designed to perform drilling and countersinking in a single pass. The tool features a TiN (titanium nitride) coating for improved wear resistance and longer service life. With a 5/8-inch body diameter, a 1/4-inch drill point diameter, and a 118-degree drill point angle, it is built for precision work in metal fabrication, tooling, and machining applications. The 60-degree included angle on the countersink geometry conforms to standard fastener seating requirements. Overall length is 3.25 inches. This tool is suited for use by machinists and trade professionals working with CNC equipment, drill presses, or manual milling setups.
The 300-001509 is intended for countersinking operations where a flat drill point entry and clean countersink profile are required in a single tool pass. The right-hand cutting direction and plain cutting edge style make it compatible with standard right-hand spindle equipment. The double end type provides additional tool life by offering two usable ends. This tool is appropriate for use in metal-working environments including job shops, production machining, and maintenance and repair operations (MRO) settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use combo drill countersink for standard right-hand spindle drilling and countersinking setups requiring a size 7 trade size tool with a 5/8-inch body diameter.
Installation and use of this tool should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with proper tooling setup and machine operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing or seating the tool in the chuck or collet. Verify that spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated geometry by forcing the countersink depth beyond the designed cutting length.
