The HERTEL 2416287 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to precise tolerances. With a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch decimal) diameter and a 1 Morse Taper (1MT) shank, this reamer mounts directly in machine tool spindles equipped with a matching taper socket. The 6-flute, right-hand spiral geometry distributes cutting load evenly, reducing chatter and improving hole finish. Overall length is 7 inches with a 1-3/4 inch flute length. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This tool is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians performing precision hole finishing on drill presses, lathes, and milling machines.
This chucking reamer is suited for production and maintenance applications where a consistent, accurately sized 7/16 inch finished bore is required. Designed for use in machine tools with a No. 1 Morse Taper (1MT) spindle socket, including drill presses, lathes, and milling machines configured for taper-shank tooling.
This reamer is installed and removed by a licensed machinist or skilled trades technician. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the taper shank. Seat the Morse Taper firmly by hand or with a soft mallet before engaging the spindle. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid during reaming operations, and never run a reamer in reverse, as reverse rotation can damage cutting edges and degrade hole finish.
