The HERTEL 2415206 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to finish-bore holes to a precise 1-5/16 inch (1.3125 inch decimal) diameter in metal workpieces. Machined from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this 10-flute tool delivers smooth, accurate material removal on right-hand cutting applications. The Morse Taper shank (1MT designation) seats directly into compatible machine spindles, providing rigid, concentric holding without a separate chuck adapter. At 11-1/2 inches overall length with a 1-3/4 inch flute length, it is sized for production boring operations on mills, drill presses, and lathes. Machinists and tool-room technicians are the primary users.
This reamer is suited for finishing pre-drilled or rough-bored holes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where tight dimensional tolerances are required. It is appropriate for job shop, tool room, and light production environments. The 1MT Morse Taper shank makes it compatible with machine spindles and tailstocks sized for that taper designation. The bright HSS construction handles a wide range of workpiece materials at moderate cutting speeds without specialized coolant requirements, though flood or mist coolant is common practice on production runs.
Designed for use in machine spindles and tailstocks accepting a 1MT (No. 1 Morse Taper) shank. Suitable for drill presses, lathes, and milling machines equipped with a matching taper socket.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotating cutting tools and machine tool safety. Before mounting, clean the taper shank and spindle socket to remove chips, oil, and debris that could affect concentricity. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended cutting speed and feed for the workpiece material and reamer diameter — consult the tool manufacturer or a machining data reference for appropriate parameters.
