The HERTEL 2410082 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to precise tolerances. With a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch decimal) diameter and a straight-cylindrical shank, this reamer mounts directly in a drill chuck, collet chuck, or CNC machine spindle. The 4-flute spiral configuration with left-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction improves chip evacuation and reduces chatter during the cut. Overall length is 3-1/2 inches with a 7/8 inch flute length. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose HSS reamers used in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians install this type of reamer as a final sizing pass after drilling.
This chucking reamer is suited for light-production and maintenance machining environments where small-diameter finish reaming is required. Typical applications include sizing holes for dowel pins, roll pins, bushings, and precision-fit fasteners in metal fabrication, mold and die work, and general machine shop operations. The 1/8 inch diameter targets the 0.1000 to 0.1499 inch reamer diameter range, making it appropriate for fine work on small bores in steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for any drill press, lathe tailstock, CNC machining center, or manual milling machine accepting a straight-cylindrical shank reamer in the 1/8 inch diameter range.
A licensed machinist or qualified tool operator should install and operate this reamer in accordance with applicable machine shop safety practices. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before loading or removing the reamer from its holder. Always apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve bore finish. Never run a chucking reamer as a primary hole-opener — always pre-drill the hole to within a few thousandths of finished diameter before reaming.
