The HERTEL 2350585 is a straight-cylindrical shank chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine shop and production environments. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent sizing accuracy at a nominal diameter of 29/32 inches (0.9062 inches decimal). The 8-flute, right-hand spiral configuration provides smooth cutting action and efficient chip evacuation. With an overall length of 10 inches and a flute length of 2-5/8 inches, this reamer suits applications requiring controlled stock removal and tight bore tolerances. Machinists and tool-room technicians are the primary installers.
This chucking reamer is suited for use in drill presses, lathes, CNC machining centers, and manual milling setups where a machine-driven, straight-shank tool is required. It is appropriate for finishing bored or drilled holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where final hole size, surface finish, and roundness are critical. The right-hand cutting direction matches standard machine spindle rotation. Typical applications include production reaming of bearing bores, bushing seats, and precision fit holes in general metalworking and manufacturing operations.
Designed as an OEM-style machine reamer for use in standard drill chucks, collet chucks, and floating reamer holders accepting straight-cylindrical shanks in machining center, lathe, and drill press setups.
This tool is installed by machinists or tool-room technicians in machine spindles using a drill chuck or appropriate collet holder. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the reamer. Use adequate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Always pre-drill or bore the hole to the correct pre-ream diameter before use — do not use a chucking reamer to remove excessive stock.
