The HERTEL 2297455 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed for finishing bored or drilled holes to a precise diameter. With a reamer diameter of 14.50mm (0.5709 inches), an 8-inch overall length, and a 2-inch straight flute length, this tool is built for machine-fed reaming operations where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly in standard drill press or CNC lathe chucks, making setup fast and repeatable. Right-hand cutting direction follows standard rotation. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians working to close-tolerance hole finishing specifications will find this a reliable, purpose-built tool.
This chucking reamer is suited for machine-shop and industrial maintenance applications where holes need to be brought to final size after drilling or boring. Typical use cases include production reaming on drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers, as well as fixture and jig work requiring consistent hole diameter. The 14.50mm diameter falls within the 0.5000 to 0.6999 decimal-inch range, making it appropriate for medium-bore work in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as a machine-mounted chucking reamer compatible with standard drill press, lathe, and CNC machining center chucks that accept a straight-cylindrical shank in the applicable diameter range.
This reamer is intended for machine use only — it is not a hand reamer. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the machine chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the tolerance required. Always reduce spindle speed relative to drilling and apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material. De-energize and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting tooling per standard lockout/tagout procedures.
