The HERTEL 2058154 is a straight-shank chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal workpieces. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS reamers. The reamer measures 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch decimal) in diameter and carries a 4-inch overall length with a 1-inch flute length. Six right-hand spiral flutes provide smooth, consistent material removal and accurate final bore sizing. This tool is suited for machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance professionals who require repeatable, close-tolerance results in production or repair drilling operations.
The 2058154 is used in machine-shop and maintenance environments where holes require finish reaming to tight diameter tolerances. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks, collet chucks, and machine tool spindles without adapters. It is appropriate for right-hand cutting operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials at conventional reaming speeds and feeds. The TiCN coating makes it a practical choice for higher-volume applications where uncoated tooling wears prematurely.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual machine tools equipped with a drill chuck or collet system accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 5/32-inch diameter range.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with machine tool operation. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before beginning the reaming operation, and ensure the machine spindle is at a complete stop before loading or removing the tool. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to promote tool life and surface finish quality. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for HSS reamers at this diameter range.
