The HERTEL 18651 is a high speed steel countersink designed for creating clean, chamfered seat angles in metal and similar workpiece materials. Built with a 4-flute straight-cylindrical shank configuration, this tool delivers consistent material removal and smooth finishes in production and maintenance drilling applications. The 3/4 inch head diameter and 60-degree included angle make it well suited for deburring, countersinking fastener seats, and chamfering operations where precise angle control matters. Licensed machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance professionals working in fabrication or industrial environments are the primary users of this tool.
This countersink is used in general metalworking applications including sheet metal fabrication, structural steel work, and precision machining. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard drill press chucks and milling machine collets, making it compatible with common shop equipment. The 60-degree included angle is a widely used geometry for countersinking machine screws and deburring drilled holes in steel, aluminum, and similar materials. Individual packaging and a minimum order quantity of one unit make it practical for both single-task service calls and stocking in a shop environment.
Designed for use with standard drill presses, milling machines, and hand drills equipped with chucks accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a 60-degree countersink angle is required.
This tool is installed by machinists and metalworking technicians using standard drill press or milling machine setups. Secure the straight shank firmly in the chuck before operation and verify spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material and head diameter. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Eye protection and appropriate workholding are required during all countersinking operations.
