The HERTEL 16IR24UNHG225TR is a laydown-style threading insert designed for internal UN thread-form cutting on CNC lathes and threading toolholders. Manufactured from solid carbide with a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, this insert is rated for grade HG225TR and delivers consistent thread geometry on right-hand internal UN threads at 24 threads per inch (TPI). The 3/8-inch inscribed circle (IC) and 0.146-inch thickness place it in a standard laydown seating format. It is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians performing single-point threading operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.

This insert is suited for internal threading applications in production and job-shop environments where UN-standard thread profiles are required. Typical uses include threading bores in fixtures, hydraulic components, fittings, and mechanical assemblies. The 24 TPI pitch targets fine-thread UN series applications.
