The HERTEL 1000211 is a right-hand MWLN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for negative-rake external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a 1 inch by 1 inch square shank, an overall length of 6 inches, and a -5 degree rake angle. The holder uses a clamp-and-screw insert retention method for secure seating under interrupted and continuous cutting conditions. Compatible with WN..43. style inserts with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, this toolholder is suited for machining steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. It is installed and used by machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The HERTEL 1000211 is intended for right-hand external turning applications on standard OD turning operations. The MWLN toolholder style positions the insert at a 5-degree lead angle, which helps direct cutting forces toward the workpiece and away from the spindle. The 1 inch by 1 inch shank seats into standard square-bore tool blocks and turrets commonly found on production lathes and turning centers. The head length measures 1.13 inches and the back-of-bar to cutting edge dimension is 1.25 inches, supporting accurate tool-height setup. This holder does not have coolant-through capability.
Accepts WN.. 432 inserts as specified by the manufacturer. The holder is cataloged under MWLNR and L164D manufacturer catalog references. Designed for use in standard square-bore turning center turrets and manual lathe tool posts that accommodate a 1 inch by 1 inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the lathe or turning center is fully powered down and the spindle is locked before changing or setting toolholders. The insert and clamping hardware should be inspected for wear or damage before each use. Torque the clamp screw according to the insert manufacturer guidelines for the specific insert grade being used.
