The HERTEL 06821813 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers reliable cutting performance in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 3/4-inch cutting diameter is matched by a 3/4-inch shank for a rigid, direct-fit setup. With 4 flutes and a 3-inch length of cut, this tool handles deep slotting and peripheral roughing passes where high chip loads and heat resistance are critical. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting rotation are standard for conventional milling setups. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shop and production environments.
This roughing end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. The regular-length geometry and single-end configuration make it a direct-reach tool for general-purpose roughing on steel, alloy steel, stainless, and similar materials. It is not center-cutting, so it is not intended for direct plunge operations. The 5-1/4-inch overall length fits standard R8, CAT, and BT toolholders with a 3/4-inch bore.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit cutting tool for any milling machine or machining center accepting a 3/4-inch straight-shank end mill in a standard collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder.
Install this end mill in a 3/4-inch end mill holder or precision collet, ensuring the shank is fully seated to the recommended engagement depth for the holder type. Verify spindle runout before making first cuts, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear and reduces surface finish quality. Because this tool is not center-cutting, establish the tool path with a ramping or helical entry rather than a direct axial plunge. Follow all machine guarding and lockout-tagout procedures before changing tooling.
