The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 88361 is a 6-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in stainless steel and high-temperature alloys. It features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 37-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup in difficult-to-machine materials. The Tplus coating adds wear resistance and lubricity, extending tool life in demanding applications. This is a single-end, straight-shank tool with a 2-inch overall length. It suits CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and finish quality are required on hard or exotic materials.
This end mill is built for milling stainless steel grades and high-temperature alloys such as Inconel, titanium, and similar materials that generate high cutting forces and heat. The variable index geometry reduces harmonic vibration during the cut, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. It is well suited for finish profiling, contour milling, and slotting operations in aerospace, medical, and industrial manufacturing environments. The compact 1/8 inch diameter makes it appropriate for fine-feature machining and tight-radius work.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard straight-shank tool holders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter. Part of the Helical Solutions Stainless and High Temp 6 Flute Ball Variable Pitch series.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine powered off and spindle fully stopped. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank securely in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before first use, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Handle solid carbide tooling carefully to avoid edge chipping from contact with hard surfaces.
