The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 87213 is a 6-flute solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-efficiency machining (HEM) of ferrous and high-temperature alloys. It carries an APLUS coating for improved wear resistance and heat management during aggressive cutting operations. The mill diameter is 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch) with a 0.25-inch straight shank, making it compatible with standard collet toolholding systems. A variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter, allowing higher feed rates and improved surface finish on demanding materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists working in job shop and production environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is designed for roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Its 6-flute geometry with helical flute profile is well suited to HEM strategies that use high radial engagement with reduced axial depth of cut. The 5/16-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth passes in tight-clearance workholding setups.
