The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 87196 is a 7-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. With a 3/8-inch cutting diameter and a 0.0300-inch corner radius, this tool is built for roughing operations where edge strength and surface finish both matter. The variable pitch geometry reduces harmonic chatter, and the Tplus PVD coating extends tool life in abrasive and high-heat applications. It is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing plunge entry as well as standard peripheral and slot cuts. Machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments will find this tool suited to aggressive roughing cycles.
This end mill is rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium as secondary materials, with specific suitability called out for stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel. The HEV-C-7 series is optimized for use with high-precision toolholders to maximize runout control and take full advantage of the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR specification. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. The 1-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length make this a compact, rigid tool suited to shallow-to-moderate depth applications.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, with secondary suitability for non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Part of the Helical Solutions HEV-C-7 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Use a high-precision collet or shrink-fit toolholder to stay within the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning any cut. Follow the tooling manufacturer's recommended feeds and speeds for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
