The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 86807 is a 5-flute solid carbide square end mill engineered for demanding cutting applications in stainless steel and high-temperature alloys. With a 0.25 inch mill diameter and a 0.375 inch length of cut, this tool features a variable index geometry that reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts. The Tplus coating provides enhanced lubricity and heat resistance, extending tool life in difficult-to-machine materials. The reduced neck design allows extended reach of 1.625 inches while maintaining rigidity. Machinists and CNC programmers running stainless steel, Inconel, titanium, and similar alloys will find this geometry purpose-built for those challenges.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in job shops, aerospace shops, and production environments where stainless steel and high-temperature alloy workpieces are common. The center-cutting capability allows plunge entry, making it suitable for pocketing and profiling operations. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard ER collets and end mill holders. The 4 inch overall length accommodates applications requiring moderate reach without sacrificing stiffness.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank toolholders, ER collet chucks, and end mill holders. Optimized for stainless steel and high-temperature alloy milling per the HELICAL SOLUTIONS End Mills for Stainless and High Temp series designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the tool from the holder. Use a torque wrench and manufacturer-specified procedure for collet nut tightening to avoid tool pullout during high-feed passes. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool setup, as excessive runout accelerates wear and degrades surface finish on tight-tolerance alloy workpieces.
