The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 84841 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-efficiency material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. Part of the H35ALV-C-3 series, it features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 1-5/8 inch length of cut (1.625 inches), and a 4 inch overall length. The 3-flute, variable-pitch geometry with a 35-degree medium helix reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation. A Zplus PVD coating extends tool life in demanding cuts. The 0.125 inch corner radius adds edge strength and helps prevent chipping at depth. This end mill is a centercutting, right-hand cutting and flute direction tool on a straight cylindrical 1/2 inch shank.
This end mill is primarily suited for machining aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. The chipbreaker geometry and variable pitch make it well matched to roughing operations where chip control and vibration damping are critical. It is designed for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain the rated TIR maximum of 0.0003 inches. Machinists running production or job-shop work on CNC milling centers will find this tool appropriate for both slotting and peripheral milling passes in the listed material groups.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metal; secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H35ALV-C-3 series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists on CNC milling equipment. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully into a high-precision toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before spindle operation. Verify runout does not exceed the rated TIR maximum of 0.0003 inches using a dial test indicator before cutting. Confirm all axis feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
