The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 84571 is a 6-flute solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-efficiency milling of high-temperature alloys including titanium. It carries an APLUS PVD coating and features a variable index flute geometry that reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts. The mill diameter is 0.375 inches with a matching 0.375-inch straight-cylindrical shank, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 3.5-inch overall length. The ball nose radius is 0.1875 inches. This tool is suited for machinists and CNC programmers running roughing and finishing passes in a single setup on difficult-to-machine materials.
The 84571 is designed for machining high-temperature alloys and titanium-group materials in both production and job-shop environments. Its variable index geometry distributes cutting forces unevenly around the tool, which helps suppress vibration at higher feed rates. The single-end configuration and right-hand cutting and flute direction make it compatible with standard vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. The APLUS coating provides enhanced lubricity and oxidation resistance, which is critical when cutting materials with high work-hardening tendencies. This tool is part of the HVTI-6 series, which targets titanium and high-temp alloy applications specifically.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard straight-bore tool holders accepting a 0.375-inch shank. Primary workpiece material classification is high-temperature alloys and titanium (material code S). Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HVTI-6 series for titanium and high-temp alloy milling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank in a precision collet or hydraulic tool holder to maintain runout below the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped before tool changes. Consult the material-specific feeds and speeds data published for the HVTI-6 series before running the first cut, and verify workholding rigidity when machining titanium or high-temp alloys to avoid tool deflection.
