The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 84495 is a solid carbide high-feed end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built on a 5-flute, variable-pitch geometry with an integrated chipbreaker rougher profile, it reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation during high-efficiency milling (HEM) and combination feed operations. The 0.5-inch mill diameter pairs with a 0.0628-inch program radius, making it suited for high-feed toolpaths that keep axial depth of cut low while maximizing feed rates. The Tplus coating provides wear resistance and heat dissipation at the cutting edge. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments rely on this geometry for consistent roughing performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers running high-feed or trochoidal milling strategies. The single-end, 5-flute chipbreaker rougher configuration is well matched to roughing passes in steel, stainless, and similar alloys where chip control and tool life are priorities. With a 1.0-inch length of cut and a 0.5-inch shank diameter, it fits standard ER or side-lock toolholders and provides rigidity for deeper reach without excessive deflection. The 3-inch overall length keeps the tool compact for setups where clearance is not a limiting factor.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production cutting tool for CNC machining centers using high-feed or high-efficiency milling strategies with standard 0.5-inch bore toolholding systems.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder specification before running. Verify programmed feed rates and axial depth of cut match the high-feed toolpath parameters intended for this geometry before beginning a cut.
