The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 84357 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to the HEVC-C-6 series specification, it features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0600 inch corner radius, and six flutes with a variable index, right-hand spiral geometry. The Tplus PVD coating extends tool life when cutting abrasive and thermally challenging workpiece materials. A coolant-through design supports chip evacuation and thermal management at the cutting edge. This tool is intended for use in CNC machining centers by experienced machinists and tooling professionals working with close-tolerance components.
The 84357 is engineered for roughing operations in stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel. Its 2-1/4 inch length of cut and 5 inch overall length suit deep-cavity and side-milling operations where reach and rigidity are both critical. The straight-cylindrical, 3/4 inch shank is dimensioned to h6 tolerance for consistent seating in high-precision toolholders. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry where required by the operation. This end mill is applicable to aerospace, medical, and general precision machining environments where difficult materials are the norm.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Shank diameter is 3/4 inch to h6 tolerance for consistent fit in collet chucks, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit holders rated for that shank size. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC tooling setup and safe tool-change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Use a high-precision toolholder meeting the manufacturer recommendation to maintain runout within the specified 0.0005 inch TIR maximum. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use and replace the tool if chipping or coating breakdown is observed.
