The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 84282 is a solid carbide, 5-flute corner radius end mill engineered for high-efficiency milling (HEM) in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.75 inch mill diameter, a 1.625 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and extends tool life in aggressive roughing passes. The chipbreaker geometry breaks up chips before they reweld to the cutting edge, a common problem in aluminum. Variable pitch flute spacing dampens harmonics at high spindle speeds. The Nplus PVD coating provides lubricity and heat resistance suited to non-ferrous applications. Designed for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain the 0.0003 inch maximum TIR spec.
This end mill is intended for roughing operations in wrought aluminum, cast aluminum, graphite, and non-ferrous metals. It fits standard CNC machining centers and high-speed milling platforms where high material removal rates in aluminum are the primary objective. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into high-precision collet chucks or hydraulic toolholders. The 4 inch overall length and regular-length classification make it a practical choice for most open-pocket and peripheral roughing scenarios in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are wrought aluminum, cast aluminum, graphite, and non-ferrous metals. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HVAL-C-5 series of 5-flute corner radius chipbreaker roughers for high-efficiency milling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into a clean, high-precision collet chuck or hydraulic toolholder before torquing to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0003 inch TIR maximum before beginning a cut. Consult the machine tool and toolholder documentation for proper clamping length and pull-out force requirements before running high-feed toolpaths.
