The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 84045 is a single-end, 4-flute square end mill engineered for demanding metal removal applications in stainless steel, steel, and cast iron. Built from solid carbide and coated with a Tplus finish, it delivers hardness and heat resistance required in high-temperature cutting environments. The cutting diameter is 0.0625 inches with a 0.3120-inch length of cut, a 0.2500-inch straight shank, and a 2.5000-inch overall length. The variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic vibration during the cut, making it well suited for tight-tolerance finishing passes and aggressive material removal in difficult alloys. Installed by machinists and toolroom professionals, this tool is a production-grade choice where surface finish and tool life matter.
This end mill is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where a 1/4-inch shank collet or end mill holder is available. The small 1/16-inch cutting diameter makes it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in tight geometries. Its right-hand cut and right-hand helical flutes are compatible with standard spindle configurations. The Tplus coating extends tool life in corrosion-resistant and work-hardening alloys such as 304 and 316 stainless, where uncoated carbide wears quickly.
Part of the Helical Solutions End Mills for Stainless and High Temp - 4 Flute - Square - Variable Pitch series. Designed for use with standard 1/4-inch shank collets or end mill holders in CNC and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (material codes P, M, and K).
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the manufacturer-recommended minimum engagement depth, avoiding overhang beyond what the application requires. Inspect the collet bore and tool shank for chips or contamination before seating. Follow the cutting tool manufacturer and machine tool builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut when working with stainless steel or high-temperature alloys, as improper parameters accelerate tool wear and risk workpiece damage.
