The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83806 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for high-performance chamfering, deburring, and edge-breaking operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills. With a 0.25-inch cutter head diameter, 90-degree included angle, and a 0.12-inch length of cut, this tool produces consistent, clean chamfers on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The Aplus coating provides enhanced lubricity and heat resistance, extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. Two right-hand helical flutes deliver efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This is a pointed-end, single-end tool suited for precision chamfer work in production and job-shop environments.
The 83806 is suited for use on machining centers handling ferrous metals, aluminum, and similar machinable materials where controlled chamfering and edge preparation are required. Its 0.25-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 2.5-inch overall length provides clearance for most standard workholding setups without excessive overhang. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will find this tool appropriate for both prototype and production runs requiring repeatable edge geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting 0.25-inch shank diameter toolholders, including standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state before tool changes. Seat the 0.25-inch shank fully and evenly in the collet or toolholder and torque the retention system to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine-tool operating codes when programming feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
