The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83568 is a 3-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling of aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter, a 7/32 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree high helix angle that promotes chip evacuation and surface finish in softer metals. The Zplus PVD coating adds lubricity and wear resistance without the added thickness that can affect dimensional accuracy. With a variable index design and reduced neck geometry, this end mill is built for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or automotive environments.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and 3D contouring in aluminum alloys and other non-ferrous metals. The reduced neck design with a 1.5 inch reach length allows access to deeper features and pockets without sacrificing rigidity over the cutting zone. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance ensures accurate tool holding in collet chucks and end mill holders. The 3 inch overall length and stub length classification make it a practical choice for setups where overhang must be minimized. It is a single-end tool intended for right-hand cutting with right-hand flute direction.
Designed for use in aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials as part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS 3 Flute Ball 40 Helix Variable Pitch Reduced Neck End Mills for Aluminum Alloys and Non-Ferrous Materials series. Compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following standard tool change procedures for the machine in use. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the tool holder and torque the collet nut or set screw to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting; maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0003 inch.
