The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83552 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in both roughing and finishing operations. The 3/4-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 0.0150-inch corner radius and three helical flutes to produce clean edge breaks and reduced corner chipping on precision workpieces. A Zplus PVD coating provides elevated surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. The H40ALV-3 series geometry features a variable index pitch, which reduces harmonic vibration and chatter at elevated feed rates. This tool is intended for use in high-precision toolholders and is well suited for machinists and CNC programmers running aluminum and non-ferrous metals as primary workpiece materials.
The 83552 is primarily rated for aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications, with secondary capability across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. Its centercutting design allows plunge entry, making it useful for pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard collet and high-precision shrink-fit toolholders. The regular-length flute geometry and 1.7500-inch length of cut handle most common depth requirements in production and job-shop environments without requiring extended-reach tooling.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metal; secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. Series H40ALV-3.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or shrink-fit holder to the recommended gauge-line depth before torquing the retention mechanism. Verify runout with a dial indicator against the TIR specification before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's maximum RPM rating for the tool diameter.
