The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83419 is a 2-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for milling aluminum alloys and other non-ferrous materials. The tool features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 45-degree high helix angle, and a bright uncoated finish that reduces built-up edge when cutting soft, gummy metals. With a 3/4 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length, this is a standard-reach single-end tool suited for profiling, slotting, and finishing passes in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where non-ferrous metals are the primary workpiece material. The 45-degree helix promotes aggressive chip evacuation, which is critical when cutting aluminum to prevent chip re-cutting and workpiece marring. The ball nose geometry makes it well suited for 3D contour work, cavity profiling, and blending operations. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance ensures consistent runout and repeatable tool holding in standard collet chucks and end mill holders.
Designed for use with aluminum alloys and non-ferrous metals. This tool belongs to the HELICAL SOLUTIONS 2 Flute Ball 45 Helix End Mills for Aluminum Alloys and Non-Ferrous Materials series. Fits standard 3/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer guidelines. Verify runout at the tool tip before beginning a cut, particularly for finishing operations where TIR directly affects surface finish quality.
