The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83237 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in steel and cast iron applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.125 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding operations. The 4-flute, variable-pitch geometry dampens vibration and supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. An APLUS PVD coating provides thermal and abrasion resistance suited to ferrous workpiece materials. Installed in a high-precision toolholder, this end mill is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, production, and tool-and-die environments.
The 83237 is designed for milling low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron. Its single-end, straight-cylindrical shank fits standard 1/2 inch collet chucks and end mill holders. The long-length configuration with a 4 inch overall length provides reach for deeper pockets and stepped features. Variable pitch spacing between flutes reduces harmonic chatter, making it suitable for both light finishing cuts and moderate stock removal in ferrous materials.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Suitable for milling low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HSV-4 series of variable-pitch corner radius end mills for steels.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are powered down and fully stopped before inserting or removing the end mill. Use a high-precision collet or end mill holder matched to the 1/2 inch shank diameter with shank tolerance h6 for proper runout control. Verify TIR does not exceed 0.0005 inch at setup to maintain tolerance and coating integrity during cutting.
