The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83077 is a 5-flute solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. It carries a 0.2500 inch mill diameter, a 0.7500 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge. The APLUS PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation, extending tool life in demanding cuts. Variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive passes, making this tool well suited for roughing operations where stability and surface finish both matter. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 0.2500 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This end mill is built for machining steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It fits into the HEV-C-5 series, which targets high-efficiency roughing strategies in job shop and production environments. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility in toolpath programming without requiring a pre-drilled pilot hole. The tool is rated for use in high-precision toolholders that minimize runout, which is especially important given the tight TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch. Primary material applications include low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron.
The 83077 is part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HEV-C-5 series and is rated for primary use in steel and cast iron (ISO material codes P and K) and secondary use in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO codes M and S). Recommended for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain TIR within the 0.0005 inch maximum specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Seat the 0.2500 inch shank fully into a high-precision collet or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout at the tip does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum before beginning a cut. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, and replace the tool if edge integrity is compromised.
