The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82999 is a 5-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 0.5000-inch mill diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, and a 0.0100-inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and extends tool life at the cutting tip. The Tplus PVD coating provides thermal resistance and lubricity suited to high-temperature alloys. Variable pitch flute spacing dampens harmonic vibration during cuts, supporting both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. At 3.0 inches overall length with a 0.5000-inch straight-cylindrical shank, this end mill seats in high-precision toolholders for consistent runout control.
The 82999 is intended for professional machinists and tooling specialists running CNC milling operations on stainless steel, titanium, and nickel-based superalloys. It is also rated for secondary use in non-ferrous metals and hard materials. The single-end, center-cutting design allows plunge entry and full slot milling where required. The HEV-5 series is built for high-efficiency milling strategies common in aerospace, medical device, and precision manufacturing environments where tight tolerances and difficult workpiece materials are standard.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes M and S). Secondary workpiece materials include non-ferrous metals and hard materials (material codes N and H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The tool must be seated in a high-precision toolholder to maintain runout within the specified 0.0005-inch TIR maximum. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm holder bore diameter matches the 0.5000-inch shank before tightening to avoid shank damage or runout error.
