The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82965 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, cast iron, and secondary materials including stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and improves surface finish on workpiece corners. The 5-flute, variable-pitch geometry helps suppress vibration and chatter during aggressive cuts, making this tool suitable for both roughing and finishing passes. It carries an APLUS PVD coating for extended tool life in ferrous applications. A straight cylindrical shank at 0.5 inch diameter is compatible with high-precision toolholders.
This end mill is built for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers handling steel and cast iron components. The single-end, centercutting design supports plunge entry and full-contour profiling. Variable pitch flute spacing makes it particularly effective in setups where chatter control is critical, such as thin-wall pockets, long-reach cuts, or high-feed strategies on harder ferrous materials. Secondary workpiece material compatibility extends its application to stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium where cutting conditions are appropriate.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron (ISO P and K classifications). Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO M, N, S, and H classifications). Part of the HEV-5 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Confirm runout at the cutting edge does not exceed the rated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before beginning a cut. Always verify feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut parameters against published cutting data for the specific workpiece material before engaging the tool.
