The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82917 is a 7-flute solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding ferrous and exotic materials. It features a 0.5000 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius, making it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing operations where edge integrity and corner strength are critical. The Tplus PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat dissipation. Variable index geometry reduces harmonic vibration and chatter during aggressive cuts, improving surface finish and extending tool life in difficult materials.
This end mill is built for professional machinists and CNC operators working in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The HEV-C-7 series is engineered for use with high-precision toolholders to maximize runout control. It is a single-end, center-cutting design, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling. The straight-cylindrical shank and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with standard ER and hydraulic toolholding systems. Material removal classification is roughing, though its corner radius and coating also support finishing passes.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Secondary workpiece materials include non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HEV-C-7 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a high-precision toolholder to maintain runout within the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum. Confirm shank engagement depth meets toolholder manufacturer minimums before operation. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the target workpiece material and coating type.
