The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82852 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The 45-degree helix angle promotes aggressive chip evacuation, reducing built-up edge and heat at the cutting zone. A ZrN (Zplus) coating further improves lubricity and wear resistance on non-ferrous workpieces. The 3/16-inch cutting diameter and 1-3/16-inch length of cut make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations where a compact tool with extended reach capability is needed. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms.
This end mill is intended for use in aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous materials where a sharp, free-cutting geometry is critical to surface finish and tool life. The single-end, right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is compatible with standard vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers as well as manual mills. The 3/16-inch straight shank accepts standard ER or end mill holders with matching bore size. The 3-inch overall length allows reach into moderate-depth features without excessive tool overhang.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with standard end mill or collet holders accepting a 3/16-inch straight shank. Optimized for aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials per the manufacturer primary workpiece material designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an energy-isolated state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank to the recommended minimum engagement depth in the tool holder and torque the set screw or collet nut per the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before committing to a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a small-diameter carbide tool.
