The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82832 is a solid carbide, three-flute corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. It features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1/2-inch length of cut, and a 0.015-inch corner radius that protects the cutting edge and reduces chipping at the workpiece corner. The Zplus PVD coating improves lubricity and wear resistance during high-speed aluminum cutting. Variable pitch flute spacing reduces harmonic vibration, and the reduced neck geometry provides extended reach of 2.5 inches with added clearance in deep-pocket applications.
This end mill fits into the H40ALV-RN-3 series, which is purpose-built for aluminum roughing and finishing operations. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, making it suitable for pocketing, slotting, and profiling on CNC machining centers. The extended reach and reduced neck diameter of 0.356 inches make it well-suited for deep-cavity work where a standard-length tool would not clear the workpiece. It is intended for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain runout within the 0.0003-inch TIR maximum specification.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals; secondary applications include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H40ALV-RN-3 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Use a high-precision collet or shrink-fit toolholder to stay within the 0.0003-inch TIR maximum and prevent premature edge wear. Confirm correct tool projection and reach clearance before running the first pass. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating combination.
