The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82736 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 0.5000 inch mill diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0100 inch corner radius that protects the cutting edge and reduces chipping at corners. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry runs at a 45-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A Zplus PVD coating extends tool life in aluminum and non-ferrous cuts. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in precision milling operations.
This end mill is built for roughing operations on aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. The long-length configuration with a 4 inch overall length and coarse pitch chipbreaker geometry makes it well suited for deep-pocket milling and slotting passes where chip management is critical. It is specified for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain the 0.0003 inch maximum TIR rating. Typical applications include CNC machining centers in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metal (Material Code N). Secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials (Material Codes P, M, S, H). Part of the H45AL-C-3 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the straight cylindrical shank in a high-precision toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the 0.0003 inch TIR maximum before cutting. Power down and lock out the spindle before any tool change. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque specifications for the shank diameter.
