The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82698 is a solid carbide high-feed end mill designed for aggressive material removal in steel and ferrous alloys up to 45 Rc. The 1/4 inch diameter, 5-flute geometry is optimized for high-feed-rate toolpaths with a program radius of 0.0314 inches, keeping radial cutting forces low and enabling faster table feeds at reduced depths of cut. The Tplus coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation in demanding cutting conditions. Coolant-through construction delivers cutting fluid directly to the tool tip, extending tool life in deep-reach applications. This tool is used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments.
This end mill is suited for high-feed milling operations on steels up to 45 Rc in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The reduced neck and 1-1/2 inch reach length allow access in pockets and slots where full-diameter shanks would interfere. The variable pitch flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during high-feed passes. The single-end configuration and 1/4 inch shank fit standard ER and end mill holders. With a 0.2500 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length, it is best applied to shallow, high-speed passes rather than deep slotting.
Designed for use in standard 1/4 inch end mill holders and ER collet chucks on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers running high-feed milling operations on steels up to 45 Rc.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle at a complete stop and machine in an e-stop or lock-out state. Seat the shank fully in the holder and torque the retention nut per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating the first cut. High-feed end mills require programmed toolpaths that match the specified program radius — do not use this tool on conventional end mill toolpaths at full axial depth.
