The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82546 is a 5-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill from the HEV-5 series, designed for high-performance milling in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 3/8-inch diameter with a 0.0100-inch corner radius and a 3/4-inch length of cut. The APLUS PVD coating extends tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. Variable pitch geometry reduces chatter and harmonics during aggressive cuts. This tool handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup, making it well suited for production environments and precision machining applications.
The 82546 is built for use in CNC machining centers and high-precision toolholders. Its straight cylindrical shank and right-hand cutting geometry are standard for vertical and horizontal milling setups. Primary applications include slotting, profiling, and contouring in steel and cast iron. Secondary material capability covers stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry. This tool is appropriate for shops running tight-tolerance work where surface finish and edge integrity matter.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HEV-5 series, optimized for roughing and finishing in steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully in a high-precision toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inch before beginning a cut. Always confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the workpiece.
