The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82484 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance aluminum milling applications. It features a 0.75 inch (3/4 inch) cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 10 inch overall length with a 6 inch reach, making it well suited for deep-reach operations where clearance is critical. The 3-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, a key requirement when cutting aluminum alloys. A Zplus coating is applied to the flute surfaces to reduce built-up edge and extend tool life in non-ferrous materials. The variable pitch index design helps dampen harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts.
This end mill is engineered for aluminum and other non-ferrous materials in production machining environments. The reduced neck profile allows extended reach into deep pockets or slots without requiring a long-reach tool holder. The straight cylindrical shank is compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cut, suitable for conventional CNC milling operations on machining centers and knee mills where aluminum removal rates are a priority.
Designed for use in the HELICAL SOLUTIONS End Mills for Aluminum series featuring 3-flute square geometry, 40-degree helix, variable pitch, and reduced neck configuration. Suitable for standard 0.75 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine controls locked out. The straight cylindrical shank requires a properly sized collet or end mill holder torqued to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish. Verify spindle speed and feed rate parameters are appropriate for aluminum before engaging the cut.
