The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81762 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding shop environments. It features a 1/2-inch diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 0.50 mm (0.0200-inch) corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in aggressive applications. The 5-flute, single-end geometry with a variable pitch configuration minimizes chatter and supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The proprietary APLUS PVD coating enhances wear resistance and thermal stability. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or die-mold environments.
The 81762 is well suited for milling steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry, making it practical for slot milling, pocket milling, and profiling operations. The 3-inch overall length and 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard end mill holders and high-precision toolholders. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC machining center setups. This end mill is appropriate for both light finishing passes and moderate material removal rates in a single setup.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders and standard 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron (ISO P, K). Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO M, N, S, H).
This end mill is installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before changing tooling, power down the spindle completely and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, and confirm cutting parameters against the workpiece material and machine spindle capability.
