The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81442 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in a wide range of materials. It features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 0.0600 inch corner radius, and three flutes configured for right-hand cutting with a variable pitch and 40-degree high helix angle. The Zplus PVD coating improves wear resistance and surface finish, particularly in aluminum and non-ferrous metals. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch length of cut, this single-end, center-cutting tool is sized for general-purpose profiling, slotting, and contouring operations on CNC machining centers. It is intended for use with high-precision toolholders.
This end mill is built for shops running aluminum and non-ferrous metals as the primary workpiece material, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. The H40ALV-3 series geometry is suited to both roughing and finishing passes, making it a practical single-tool choice for programs that combine material removal and final-pass contouring. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard ER collets and shrink-fit holders on 3-axis and 5-axis CNC platforms.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders including ER collet chucks and shrink-fit systems on CNC machining centers. Primary material application is aluminum and non-ferrous metal; secondary applications include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials per Series H40ALV-3 material codes.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Seat the shank fully into a clean, high-precision toolholder and verify runout against the 0.0003 inch TIR maximum before cutting. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque recommendations. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each setup to confirm the tool is free of chips or wear that could affect dimensional output.
