The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81422 is a 3-flute solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in precision machining applications. It carries a 0.1250-inch mill diameter, a 0.3750-inch length of cut, and a 0.0300-inch corner radius, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. The Zplus PVD coating reduces heat buildup and extends tool life when cutting aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. Variable index geometry reduces harmonic chatter, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy across a range of cutting conditions.
This end mill is built for CNC machining centers handling aluminum and non-ferrous metals as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. The center-cutting design allows plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility in 3-axis and multi-axis toolpath strategies. It is recommended for use with high-precision toolholders to take full advantage of the 0.0003-inch maximum TIR specification. The Series H40ALV-3 platform targets shops running tight-tolerance work where both surface quality and tool longevity matter.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders in CNC milling applications. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals; secondary materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H40ALV-3 series.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank in a high-precision toolholder - collet or hydraulic chuck - to maintain the specified 0.0003-inch maximum TIR. Confirm spindle and machine are fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool before beginning any cut cycle.
