The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 59109 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.0600 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at part corners and extends tool life. The Zplus PVD coating is applied specifically for aluminum and non-ferrous materials, reducing built-up edge and improving surface finish. With three flutes and a medium 35-degree helix, the tool balances chip evacuation with rigidity. It is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can plunge as well as side-mill. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace shops, and general manufacturing facilities are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is engineered primarily for aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. The H35AL-3 series targets applications requiring both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool, reducing changeovers on the spindle. The straight cylindrical shank is sized at 3/8 inch for compatibility with high-precision toolholders, which are recommended to maximize runout control given the tight TIR maximum of 0.0003 inch. Standard length geometry suits most vertical and horizontal machining center setups where extended reach is not required.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders in CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metal (Material Application Code: N). Secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials (Codes: P, M, S, H). Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H35AL-3 series.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. The tool should be seated in a high-precision toolholder and torqued according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications to maintain the 0.0003 inch TIR maximum. Verify spindle runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run. Do not exceed the tool's rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material, as improper feeds and speeds will void the coating benefit and accelerate wear.
