The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 49066 is a 3-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-efficiency milling of aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials. It carries a Zplus PVD coating optimized for non-ferrous cutting and runs a 40-degree high helix angle that promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduces built-up edge. The 0.1875-inch (3/16 inch) diameter and 1.0000-inch length of cut make it well suited for profiling, slotting, and finishing passes in tight-tolerance aluminum components. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. This tool is sold as a single-end mill with a straight-cylindrical shank and is classified for both roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill belongs to the HELICAL SOLUTIONS series engineered specifically for aluminum alloys and non-ferrous metals (material code N). The long-length configuration, 1.0000-inch reach, and 3.0000-inch overall length give machinists clearance for deeper cavity work without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual mills wherever non-ferrous stock is the primary workpiece material. The 0.0938-inch nose radius is consistent with a true ball profile for contoured and 3D surfacing work.
Designed for use with aluminum alloys and non-ferrous metals in CNC and conventional milling applications. Straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch) fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders accepting 3/16-inch shanks.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state. Verify collet or holder bore diameter matches the 0.1875-inch shank before clamping. Inspect the tool shank and collet seating surfaces for contamination or wear before each setup, as debris will compromise runout. Follow the machine manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut for the specific workpiece alloy.
