The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 49051 is a 3-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for milling aluminum alloys and other non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.1875-inch diameter, a 0.375-inch length of cut, and a 40-degree high-helix geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation in gummy, low-ferrous materials. The Zplus PVD coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in high-speed aluminum machining applications. With a nose radius of 0.0938 inches and a straight-cylindrical shank at h6 tolerance, this mill delivers consistent dimensional accuracy. It is a single-end tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction, suited for both roughing and finishing passes in one setup.
This end mill is built for CNC machining centers and manual mills running aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. The 2.0-inch overall length and standard-length classification make it a practical fit for general-purpose cavity work, profiling, and contouring where a ball-nose profile is required. The variable-pitch flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter at higher feed rates, making it well suited to high-efficiency milling strategies common in aluminum aerospace and automotive component work. Each unit is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed for use on CNC machining centers and milling machines running aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials, as specified in the manufacturer series designation: 3 Flute, Ball 40 Helix, Variable Pitch, End Mills for Aluminum Alloys and Non-Ferrous Materials.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with end mill runout requirements. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify TIR does not exceed 0.0003 inches before cutting. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and shop safety procedures when setting speeds and feeds for carbide tooling in non-ferrous materials.
