The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 48261 is a 3-flute, square-profile solid carbide end mill designed for high-performance aluminum milling. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation in non-ferrous materials. A Zplus coating provides lubricity and heat resistance at the cutting edge, extending tool life in aluminum applications. The variable index geometry reduces harmonic chatter during dynamic milling operations. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, aerospace fabrication, and general manufacturing use this tool for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling of aluminum workpieces.
This end mill is suited for aluminum alloys in both roughing and finishing passes where chip load management and surface finish are priorities. The 40-degree right-hand helix supports axious chip pulling, reducing recutting and built-up edge. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inch in diameter and fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders common in CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is a single-end tool from Helical Solutions' End Mills for Aluminum series, specifically the 3-flute, square, 40-degree helix, variable pitch family.
Part of the Helical Solutions End Mills for Aluminum series, 3-flute square 40-degree helix variable pitch family. Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank toolholders.
Install in a clean, properly sized toolholder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer's specification before use. Inspect the collet or chuck for runout before engaging the cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Follow your machine tool manufacturer's recommended feeds and speeds for solid carbide end mills in aluminum.
