The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 48010 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance cutting in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. With a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) mill diameter and a 3/8 inch length of cut, this tool delivers precise material removal in tight-tolerance applications. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, which is critical when machining aluminum to prevent built-up edge and recutting. The variable index flute spacing reduces chatter and improves surface finish. Intended for use by machinists and CNC operators running production or prototype work on mills and machining centers.
This end mill is engineered specifically for aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials, making it well suited for aerospace, automotive, and general job shop applications where clean finishes and tight tolerances are required. The single-end design with a straight shank allows direct installation into standard collet chucks and end mill holders. With an overall length of 2.0 inches and a 1/8 inch shank diameter, it fits compact tooling setups and high-speed spindle configurations commonly used when machining small-feature aluminum components.
Designed for use in aluminum and non-ferrous materials (Primary Workpiece Material Code: N). Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS End Mills for Aluminum series featuring a 3-flute square profile with 40-degree helix and variable pitch. Compatible with any machine tool spindle accepting a 1/8 inch straight shank toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Confirm shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
