The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 47076 is a 3-flute solid carbide ball end mill engineered for aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4-inch mill diameter, a 3/8-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length with a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank. The 40-degree high-helix geometry promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduced heat buildup in non-ferrous applications. A Zplus PVD coating provides surface lubricity and wear resistance without added thermal load. The variable index flute spacing helps suppress chatter during both roughing and finishing passes. This tool is designed for use by machinists and CNC operators working with aluminum, brass, copper, and similar soft metals.
This end mill fits residential and commercial CNC machining environments where aluminum and non-ferrous workpieces require precise contouring, profiling, and finishing. The reduced neck design and extended reach of 3/4 inch allow access into pockets and slots where standard-neck end mills cannot reach without tool deflection concerns. It is a single-end tool with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction, suited for typical climb and conventional milling operations on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers.
Designed for use on CNC machining centers cutting aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials, consistent with the Series 3 Flute, Ball - 40 Helix, Variable Pitch, Reduced Neck, End Mills for Aluminum Alloys and Non-Ferrous Materials product family.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the 1/4-inch straight shank in a compatible collet or end mill holder, verifying TIR does not exceed 0.0003 inches as specified. Confirm spindle is fully stopped and machine is in a safe state before tool changes. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when handling carbide cutting tools.
