The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 46346 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in aluminum, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. It features a 0.5000-inch mill diameter, a 0.0600-inch corner radius, and a 3-flute, right-hand spiral flute geometry with variable pitch. The Zplus PVD coating is applied via a proprietary process for extended tool life and reduced built-up edge. This tool belongs to the H40ALV-RN-3 series and is built for machinists and toolroom professionals running high-precision CNC operations.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing passes on a single tool. The extended-reach design, with a 2.2500-inch reach length and 0.6250-inch length of cut, allows access to deeper pockets and stepped features without sacrificing rigidity. It is centercutting, enabling direct plunge entry. Recommended for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain runout control within the 0.0003-inch maximum TIR specification. Designed for CNC machining centers in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals (Material Code N). Secondary compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials (Material Codes P, M, S, H). Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H40ALV-RN-3 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank fully in a high-precision toolholder to maintain runout within specification and prevent premature wear or breakage. Confirm spindle is at a full stop and machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Refer to the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer guidelines for appropriate speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the target workpiece material.
