The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 45400 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. The tool features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 0.1900 inch corner radius, and five flutes with a variable pitch configuration that reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. The APLUS PVD coating extends tool life when cutting steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. At 5 inches overall length with a 2.75 inch length of cut, this end mill is built for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers running steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The HEV-5 series is engineered for shops that demand tight tolerance work without sacrificing material removal rates. The single-end, center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. It is intended for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain the 0.0005 inch maximum TIR specification. Applications span job shop work, aerospace component machining, and general metalworking in both prototype and production environments.

Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is disabled before loading or removing the end mill. Use a high-precision collet, hydraulic, or shrink-fit toolholder to maintain the specified 0.0005 inch maximum TIR. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts to avoid premature tool wear or part deviation.
